Ecclesiastes 3:4-"A time to weep, a time to laugh, a time to mourn, and a time to DANCE!"
Dear Little Sister,
I.Love.Music.!!!!! For the first 18 years of my life I was convinced that I was going to become a musician for the rest of my life. Don't get me wrong, there's a piano in the living room and a ukulele by my bed at.all.times.
These are the songs that are allllllllways playing in my room, car, head, etc. Especially this spring! I love these songs whether it's a beat(first song), the meaning(quite a few) or a memory. And I can't wait to share them!
*Warning* These songs are meant to inspire and make you smile. Please take them as lightly as you wish. Each one of my playlists help channel a different mood. This one is shear happiness! Have fun!!
1. Galway Girl(Ed Sheeran)
I just adore him. If you've never seen dear ol' Ed perform before, his shows include him, a loop pedal, and his guitar. Musician goals!!!! This song just sounds like a cute little ditty played in some little town somewhere. You have to sing along!
2.Back in Time (Huey Lewis and the News)
If you haven't heard this song....allow me to introduce you to my childhood dear, dear, sweet friend of mine. Again, another song where you have to just let go and have fun. (p.s. if I ever did a lip sync battle...)
3.Don't You Worry 'Bout a Thing(Tori Kelly)
As if this song wasn't a classic enough-our favorite musical best friend decided to make it her own, and I LOVE it! It is constantly playing in my car before work/beginning of the day. Just starts the day off right.
4.Somebody Loves You (Betty Who)
Grab your friends, pjs, and hairbrushes. Your welcome.
5.Candyman(Aloee Blac and Zedd)
If you couldn't tell, I love any song that is reminiscent of a classic movie. This song is no exception! It just makes you smile and believe in a happy world and my goodness I dare you not to dance in your seat.
6.Something Like This(Coldplay and Chainsmokers)
AHHHHHH this combination! Why this hasn't happened sooner, I will never know. I love how the song plays with the idea of wonder through the eyes of children and the concept of superheros. As Coldplay always does, they managed to find some sweet balance between calm and a whole lot of fun. If you are a Coldplay fan (like back before Viva La Vida-I'm talking about X&Y, Speed of Sound, etc.) you will appreciate this combination. (P.S.) Thanks mom for showing me this song!!!!
7.September (Earth, Wind, and Fire)
This song should be on everyone's playlist. 24/7. Such a classic, so sweet, so lighthearted, it just makes you want to grab a loved one and dance.
8.Daydream (Tori Kelly)
Yes Miss Kelly is here twice! And, why not? She is such a sweetheart and this song TOTALLY supports that. It sounds like a sweet friend encouraging you and telling you that you are perfect as you are and that you are AT a perfect place right now. Definitely the song I write most of my creative projects to.
(Pinterest release from her music video "I")
*This is for the brave ones hahaha. Miss Tayeon is hands down my favorite Korean Artist. She began in the unbelievably successful girl group "Girls Generation". As the oldest member of the group, it was no surprise that she would create music of her own. This is not at all her first song, but definitely a favorite of mine.
Another Day of Sun (La La Land)
*This is definitely a song that you want to watch the video for. If you love old hollywood, this will make you proud. It's the perfect combination of classic entertainment done in a very modern way. So even if you hate musicals-you'll be forced to smile with this one!
*Because, well...why not. You can always use a laugh.
What are some of your favorite songs this spring? And do you have any recommendations for this summer? I am so excited to hear yours!!!
