Dear Little Sister...Invest in Yourself

2 Chronicles 15:7

"But as for you, be strong and do not give up, for your work will be rewarded."

Dear Little Sister...

Hi Friends! AHHH! So many super cool things are happening! How is YOUR week? I love hearing from you, so please comment below with your favorite tip from this post!! I love you friends!

So let's talk Love. It seems like one of the hardest things you'll ever do is to bet on yourself. Why? Why is it so hard to believe in-you? We're about to start a new school year right? (Hint hint new series around the corner!) So when would be a better time to try this out? Believe that you can turn this into a good year! And you knows?! You just might! Don't be afraid to be your own #1 fan!

So here's 4 things to never forget while you're investing in yourself.

1)Your Worth

You are allowed to want this. You are allowed to dream of this, it is possible for you. You deserve any happiness that your heart longs for.

Tip: At some point, you're going to experience your dream moment. One where you're like-oooohhhhh my gosh it's happening! Don't freak out! Remember that you've earned your spot. You deserve this moment! Here's me last week with-OMG it's Kelly Baker of Kelly Baker Brows(picture below)! And over there it's AJ Crimson! And ah! It's Reggie Wells-Oprah's makeup artist! Do I belong here? Yes!! If you want to reach for the stars, believe that you already are one, and you'll float to the top.

2)Your Reason

Why are you doing this? Why have you chosen this road? Don't know? That just may be the problem my friend. You have to know why you've started so that you can refuel your drive and motivate yourself again when things get tricky.

Tip: Lilly Singh (iisuperwomanii) mentions in her book, How to be a Bawse, how it's important to schedule your inspiration. Go ahead! Pencil in a time the next 3 weeks to remind yourself of your reason.

3)Your Journey

Don't forget where you started. That's why I never stress out too much about having things be perfect. The imperfections make the journey beautiful. It makes your life so specific and special and valuable. Don't forget to be kind to yourself if things aren't moving as fast as you'd like them to.

Tip: When you're sad, count your blessings! I am definitely blessed to have this woman be my friend and co-worker. She is kind and a hard worker, love you Jojo!

4)Your Name

You have earned this. This is for your rights that no one can take away. This is for the nights you bawled, the nights you almost gave up. For every scrape, hustle, fearful moment or stressful circumstance, remind yourself that this is how you came into your name. YOU decide who YOU will be. No one can take that from you. Be proud and protect that name. So educated yourself, set goals for yourself, and you will not be stopped.

Jeannie Mai, co-host of The Real (daytime series),mentioned a phrase that will always stay with me; she says, "I hate it when someone sets the bar for another person. I set my own bar, I determine my own limits. And if even if I fail reaching for that bar, I am a better person for even trying."

Mic drop Jeannie. Mic drop.

5)Your Health

Everything needs a break to be able to recharge-and so should you! Take 5 minutes each day to listen and repair your soul(you can even time it!). When your health is balanced, everything will become much clearer.

Cheers to you!! You have worked so hard. Do not stop now! Think bigger. Smile brighter. Walk taller. Speak more frequently. Ask questions proudly. One more thing? Never.Give.Up.

I'll leave you with my favorite quote from this week. The incredible Reggie Wells said,"You are all doctors, because you are all healing something in someone." We need you. Never forget it. You're doing great.
