Alright y'all. Let's talk food lol. I am a HUGE fan of food. Food and I go way back. The problem was that I was too good of friends with a certain food called ice cream ( and if you know me well, you know my absolute weakness is the Ben & Jerry's Tonight Dough). Here's the thing! My soul loved the ice cream, my tummy did not. I was noticing that my energy wasn't super high. I wanted to find a way to give my body enough energy to keep up with all of the fun activities that I like to do. SO! I decided to try something new!
This lead me to the greatest project ever-finding new food. I feel that whenever we begin a weight loss journey, it can be so focused on what we can't have. My friends- the list of what you CAN have is SO MUCH LONGER!!! We are glass half FULL kind of people! So naturally, as I started to find new places, I knew I just had to share them with you too! Now don't be shy! Feel free to share your favorite places too!
*Keep in mind! I am not a health expert, I am an ice cream expert lol. If you're starting a health journey-girl, call your doctor first please.--don't eat every meal out daily. GO STAGE SQUAD*
I've got three words for you; fast, friendly, DELICIOUS! Need we say more?! We've got our gluten free options, vegetarian, vegan-WHOLE shabang, and their service is the kindest that you will find anywhere in Texas. I ordered the gluten free humus for a starter and finished with the steak, potatoes and greek salad. (Can we just take a moment for Mediterranean Food? Have you tried??) It is a perfect spot for the whole family or a little lunch date with your besties. (Tell them I said Hi!!!)
If I was stranded on a desert and ran into a genie, I'd use my first wish to order a life time supply of Korean BBQ. (I'm sure sometime afterwards I'd ask for a boat and a safe trip back off the island, but let's eat first.) Burning Rice made ordering so easy, while having so much variety! You have your choice of style of bowl(I chose a hot stone because....duh lol), rice, protein, and sides. When it came to sides-I love everything....so I got almost everything. I am personally obsessed with kimchi and japchae. You should give it a try! I would definitely recommend sharing it with a bestie, as there is plenty of food! Did you know bibimbap (traditional mixed rice) is made of mostly our veggies? It is a great choice that is filling AND yummy!
**(Look at me attempting a flat-lay! I'm blogging!)**
This place is a definite new go to for me-ESPECIALLY with a busy schedule! So what they do is cook meals for you, and then all you have to do is walk in and pick up you bag. (or they even deliver it to you!) It's all super easy. And don't think they forget about snacks...they have everything from sweet treats to sweet potato crisps(my personal favorite). ! So you can just find your favorite and it's...a snap? Lol I'm assuming this is where the name comes from.
Before we go, let's talk for a second. Sometimes we love our bodies, and sometimes we're not happy at all with how we look. Sometimes all we want is to look like a friend, or just anyone other than us. It's okay to admit that we feel this way sometimes. But what if we defended ourselves even when we don't look 100% the way we wish we did? I wonder what could happen...I want to encourage you to start your own journey. Maybe it starts with a salad, or a walk, or even a journal entry. But let's try to view our bodies as our die hard friend, rather than an enemy. You never know what could happen!
